The Troublesome Son

Five years later the mystical savior was five years old.  Sammatha received some enchantment books for her son to read and self-taught himself.  He would focus his energy on one specific spell until he mastered it.  He spoke about realizing about a spiritual barrier hiding them in this mythical forest.

He spoke his name for the world of Astorie to understand.  “Squaz was my name.”

He was also taught by the animals of the forest.  BioBears taught him how to fight.  BioDeer taught him how to leap in the trees.  BioSquirrals taught him how to climb and jump from tree to tree.  After his lessons from the animals, he would go back to his books on learning.

His first spell was how to levitate in midair.  He gripped his fists full of static electricity that equipped him hovering over a bonfire pit.  His mother congratulated her child on developing his first handle of a spell.  Squaz would repeat it repeatedly constantly until nightfall.  Several crows warned them about a mystery hunter in the woods by flapping their wings.

Sammatha sat in front of her son.  She was beginning to teach him how to meditate and enter the spirit world of Astorie.  She explained to him that meditating in this world would help him gather control of spells to the unknown.  She heard someone’s inner thoughts about discussing with Jules on tracking down a lost slave.

Squaz wanted an explanation on slavery.  Sammatha explained that it forces labor that relates to unfairness.  She smiled and gestured to her son if he understood right and wrong.  He kicked the tip of his shoe in the ground and looked down at his shoe.  Then he muttered wrong would be to hurt someone you love.

She showed the scar from a chain whip.  It was on her right shoulder with some of the skin torn off.  Squaz became furious with rage from the scene.  His powers trembled the cottage’s walls.  She calmed him by rubbing the back of her palm on his cheeks.  She apologized for showing her pain from years ago.

“Things are better for us now.  Trust myself.”

He hugged his mom.  She hugged him back.  Then she ordered him to get back to his studies.

The next day Squaz went to train with his animal friends.  Majesty Buck showed him the hunter from a distance.  It warned him not to intervene with him.  Squaz stayed quiet and moved like the wind.  He saw something that he had never seen before.  It was a long sword.  He swiftly moved back to the cottage.  His mother might know where he could get one of those extension weapons.

His mother was suddenly crying by the well.  She asked terrified if Squaz spotted the hunter.  She warned him that man would bring danger to them.  She uncovered a medium sword.  She didn’t tell him how it came into her possession.  She made a scarecrow for him to practice with it.

He practiced swinging it left and right until he felt comfortable with it in his hands.  It was a little heavy for his little body, but now he needed to prepare for his future.  He took everything seriously for now on.  He broke up the daylight training with his animal friends, lessons in books, and now training with weapons.  Little by little he was gaining muscle mass on his frame.

He wished from his bedroom on the first star he saw in the night sky.  It twinkled as if it listened to his wish.  Something made him jump out of his bed.  He gripped onto his sheath and snuck out of the cottage.  His bear friend was bleeding from swords.  Sammatha attempted to use her healing powers.  BioBear spoke to his friends that it was now time for Squaz to journey to the Seers of Five.

“He must go alone for the trip.”
